Important Information About the MCCA Auto & Motorcycle Refund

Wolverine Mutual will be issuing one-time Michigan Catastrophic Claims Association (MCAA) refunds to eligible policyholders for automobile and motorcycle policies that were in force with our company as of 11:59 p.m. on October 31, 2021. Vehicles are eligible to receive the refund if the vehicle was covered by a policy that meets the minimum insurance requirements for operating a vehicle on Michigan roads.

Wolverine Mutual is pleased to be able to return surplus MCCA funds to our policyholders. Refunds will be issued to policyholders in the form of a mailed check on April 12, 2022.

How much is the refund?

Eligible policyholders will receive a one-time refund of $400 per eligible vehicle.

Do policyholders need to do anything to receive a refund?

No action is needed by policyholders to receive refunds. Policyholders, however, should be cautious of scams soliciting personal information over the phone related to an MCCA refund. Wolverine will not contact you to obtain personal information.

Can policyholders apply their refund toward the balance owed?

No. Refunds cannot be used as a credit to policies with an outstanding balance. Wolverine must issue refunds to policyholders in the form of a check.

If policyholders recently moved or changed their address, what should they do?

To avoid delays in receiving the refund, policyholders should contact their agent as soon as possible to update their mailing address.

Are vehicles in storage eligible for a refund?

No. Vehicles with only Comprehensive Coverage are not eligible for a refund.
