G. Bruce Laing joined the board and was the Director of Personnel at Wolverine in 1972.
He has held various leadership positions of increasing responsibility at Wolverine. From approximately 1979 to 1995 he rose from Vice President of Underwriting to Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. From 1995 until 2005 he was President of the Company. In 2005 he became Chairman of the Board.
Earlier in his career Mr. Laing also served in the Wolverine Marketing Department in various capacities. He attended University of Michigan and served in the U.S. Army. In 1968 he interned at Lloyds of London. He is a past Chairman of what is currently known as the Insurance Alliance of Michigan (IAM), a former member of the Executive Committee of the National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies (NAMIC), and past President of Dowagiac Rotary Club.
